She-Hulk, returning from the outer reaches of space, continues her job as attorney at the Law Office for Super Humans and must learn how to deal with her newfound strength and power. Dan Slott’s whimsical story begins with a flashback to Hercules battling The Constrictor, The Jack O' Lantern, and The Sloth, only to get himself into legal trouble that is so funny it’s almost believable in this day and time. The writer intertwines the flashback with the return of She-Hulk to the law office. She-Hulk realizes her increased power is uncontrollable and seeks help from The Fantastic Four. John Jameson (a.k.a. Moon Wolf) gives his suit (given to him by NASA to control his power when he turned into a werewolf.) to Mr. Fantastic to help control She-Hulk’s new incredible strength.

Slott takes the reader to the actual trial of The Constrictor vs. Hercules. He brings so much humor and zaniness to the story that I laughed out loud while reading the dialogue between the characters involved in the courtroom.

The artwork by Paul Pelletier (pencils) and Rick Magyar (ink) is remarkable, and with Avalon Studio’s Dave Kemp (colors) expertise, really brings all the scenes to life. The battle scenes with Hercules vs. the supervillians in the flashback are just amazing and the expression of sympathy and concern for their fallen comrade is comically expressed.

She-Hulk #9 is basically an in-between book where Slott is taking readers to a new storyline and getting ready for some changes in the book. I really enjoyed the humor and surprises and guest appearances from the Marvel Universe.

Jennifer Holloway (a.k.a. She-Hulk) handles her job, relationships, as well as battling the supervillians of the world and all in this issue. This is a quality book; loyal readers of She-Hulk will not be disappointed.
