Superman, with a little help from Wonder Woman, battles Darkseid in an all-out brawl in space for the honor of Supergirl. This is part six of The “Supergirl from Krypton” storyline. The epic battle stems from Darkseid trying to take control of Kara Zor-EL and use her power for his own. Superman defeats Darkseid by using an ingenious plan to thwart his sense and reasoning. Superman, after banishing Darkseid to the Source Wall (an area of entombment for individuals the likes of Darkseid), formally introduces Supergirl to his many colleagues, which consist of The Teen Titans, The Outsiders and The JLA.
The excellent writing talent of Jeph Loeb clearly takes you through all the emotions of Superman literally badgering Darkseid with the harsh reality of his killing Kara. The artwork by Michael Turner (with inking by Peter Steigerwald and coloring by Richard Starkings) is outstanding, definitely "Wow!" material. The individual panels are detailed and stunning and the fighting action is very well drawn. Michael Turner’s pencil work never ceases to amaze and gratify the reader’s eyes. Superman/Batman #13 is a blockbuster of an issue. Try it or you will be banished to the Source Wall.
