The Teen Titans were caught in a time rift after helping The Legion of Super Heroes battle The Fatal Five Hundred. They have accidentally “returned” to a time different than their own and have come face to face with future versions of themselves.

This is the continuation from Teen Titans/Legion Special #1. [See our review here. —editor] The Teen Titans, to their disbelief, fight a group of costumed strangers that are themselves ten years in the future. The Titans of Tomorrow (Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquawoman, The Flash, Dark Raven, Animal Man, and Batman) are all the Teen Titans grown up. The Teen Titans and The Titans of Tomorrow fight a fierce fight, The Titans of Tomorrow are different; it seems that they have a psychic power to add to their already unique super powers. The battle rages on until they both realize that they are fighting themselves, so that they take the action from the streets to the Titans Tower and try to resolve the situation. The Titans from the future shift their concern to getting the Teen Titans home and not to change history or events that can damage the present or the future.

The story written by Geoff Johns is excellent; he continues to keep readers intrigued and sets up quality story lines for The Teen Titans. Readers will appreciate the depth of having Robin (Tim Drake) meeting himself as Batman since it causes him to question himself: why would he decide to become Batman? The Artwork by Mike McKone (pencils) and Marlo Alquiza (inker) is fantastic, new and fresh. The team, combined with the coloring of Jeremy Cox (colorist), gives a gritty edge and brings out the ferocity of the Teen Titans of Tomorrow.

This is an outstanding book and I think it will generate a lot of new reader interest for The Teen Titans. There are many little surprises and it intertwines well with previous stories and sets the readers up for great reading and artwork. This is a First of a Three part series and should not be missed.
