Devolution the Column

Sixth Entry
By Matt Yocum

Here’s where we stand. Zombies have emerged from the Tennessee woods. They’ve attacked houses along a small street. Entering one house, the creatures killed a security repairman and chased a couple through the house. The husband, Rick, is left badly wounded and holed up in a downstairs storage closet. His wife Kristy remains trapped in her upstairs bedroom with a zombie pinned by a door as it tries to reach her.

There ends issue 1.

A lot has happened in a short amount of time in Rick and Kristy’s life. And as we learn more of what happened to their family before they moved to Tennessee, we’ll see how the ordeal they’re currently facing is only made worse by past horrors.

Rick and Kristy have a long way to go before there’s any chance of rescue. If there’s any chance of rescue. Their emotional journey started when they lived in New Mexico and their world was shattered as a madman abducted their son. That journey will continue in the woods in Tennessee as they face a new horror – not the inner demons of the past, but the current evil staring them in the face.

Issue 2 promises more development on their past emotional journey and plenty more excitement in the house as they face the zombies trapped with them. Devolution will continue as it had with issue 1, being released in installments until the completion of the second issue when it will be packaged as a single read.
