SMALL PRESS PASS introduces you to the world of independent and small press comicbooks. As small press titles are often hard to locate on the vastness that is the Internet, Adam will be doing the legwork for you and showcasing a different title each week so that you can stay up to date on the unbelievable variety of comicbooks available from places other than the main four or five companies out there that you already know. Get ready to widen your domain of comicbook knowledge and enter the world of the Small Press.

Somewhere in Between by Megan Levens, Gage Maus, and Emily McGuinness

I met Emily McGuinness at HeroesCon where she gave me a copy of a minicomic she had inked, called Somewhere in Between. I enjoyed the story about a young woman off to fend for herself for the first time, considering what she leaves behind and what lies ahead. Although the theme is well known, the execution is what makes it so entertaining. Writer/artist Megan Levens provides a clean art style perfectly suited to the story, inked to perfection by McGuinness. Somewhere in Between currently has no publisher, so anyone interested should contact the creators through their sites listed above. I would normally go on about the virtues of the book, but I have the entire first issue posted below so I will let the work speak for itself.

Genre: Drama

You will enjoy this series if you like: Gilmore Girls, Strangers in Paradise, Everwood

Where to find it: On this very page (below), or at a convention
